HOME CARE TWO-MODEL BUYING COMPARISON

BISSELL Little Green or Shark StainStriker? Start with the fabric you need to clean, then choose the setup you want to live with.

THE SHORT ANSWER

Choose the routine, not the bigger claim.

Lean toward the Little Green 1400B if its longer power cord makes your setup easier. Give the StainStriker PX201 a closer look if its longer listed limited warranty matters to you and your purchase qualifies. Then compare the exact bundles and ongoing formula needs.

Neither is an automatic buy. Confirm that your furniture permits this cleaning method before comparing machines.

BEFORE YOU SHOP

Will your upholstery allow wet extraction?

A machine being described as an upholstery cleaner does not make it suitable for every sofa. Follow the furniture manufacturer’s instructions as well as the cleaner’s manual. BISSELL identifies W and WS upholstery as suitable for its water-based cleaning approach. Its 1400B manual excludes silk and velvet and requires a hidden-area test checked after drying. W / WS

Check the full care instructions, machine restrictions and colorfastness. The code is a starting point, not blanket permission.

S / X / unclear

Do not wet-clean upholstery marked S, X or Dry Clean Only. For a missing or unclear tag, obtain the furniture manufacturer’s instructions before proceeding.

For rugs, check the rug’s own care instructions and backing as well. A recommendation for one fabric does not transfer to another material. Our rug pad guide for hardwood floors covers pad and floor compatibility; it does not establish that a rug is safe to wet-clean.

A longer limited warranty does not establish greater reliability or lifespan; check seller eligibility, coverage, exclusions and any claim costs.

Why there is no weight or hose-length winner

The BISSELL page gives two different hose lengths. The Shark page gives conflicting weight figures. Rather than guessing which number describes the machine, we have left those rankings out. If carrying weight or storage fit will decide your purchase, obtain confirmation for the exact unit and bundle.

CHOOSE BY YOUR ROUTINE

Two reasonable choices, for different priorities

LONGER LISTED POWER CORD

BISSELL Little Green

Exact model: 1400B

15 ftpower cord
1 yearlimited warranty

Consider it if: your outlet position makes the extra 3 feet of cord useful. Formula and water are prepared in one clean-solution tank.

The trade-off: the listed warranty is shorter. Confirm the supplied tools fit your job.

LONGER LISTED LIMITED WARRANTY

Shark StainStriker

Exact model: PX201

12 ftpower cord
3 yearslimited warranty

Consider it if: the longer limited-warranty period is valuable to you and the retailer qualifies under Shark’s terms.

The trade-off: a shorter cord and a separate OXY supply. Account for both specified formulas, not just the starter bottles.

Check PX201 offers on Amazon Paid link. Opens in a new tab. Select PX201 / StainStriker + 3 Tools. The listing’s tool descriptions differ; verify carton contents, condition, seller and warranty eligibility.

The formula system is part of the purchase

With the Little Green, budget for the compatible portable-cleaner solution specified by BISSELL. With the StainStriker’s dual-formula setup, include both supplies in your comparison. Shark’s “no premix” wording should not be read as “no water or dilution step”: its manual still directs water and concentrate into the CarpetXpert tank. BISSELL setup · Shark instructions

Use only the formula specified for your machine and follow its fill marks. Both manuals limit water temperature to 140°F / 60°C. Turn off and unplug before maintenance.

Compare replacement bottles by the preparation directions, not just bottle size. A larger bottle, a lower sticker price or a starter sample does not by itself establish a lower cost per cleaning session.

If the two offers are close in price, choose the one whose routine and actual accessories solve your problem. If one costs substantially more, ask which verified feature you are paying extra for. Do not pay a premium solely because a headline sounds more powerful.

Include cleanup time in your decision

The job is not finished when the visible mark is gone. Both manuals include after-use care. Allow space near a suitable sink to deal with the removable parts and let them dry; follow the model’s instructions rather than rinsing the powered machine. BISSELL care · Shark care

Before use, remove loose debris with an appropriate dry vacuum. Avoid repeatedly adding liquid just to keep scrubbing. Shark warns that overspraying extends drying time; BISSELL advises allowing upholstery to dry. Do not plan on a guaranteed same-hour return to use. Preparation · Extraction guidance · Upholstery drying

For a one-off job, compare ownership with a suitable rental or professional quote. For recurring small messes on compatible fabric, convenient access to your own machine may matter more. Neither option eliminates the need to follow the furniture’s care instructions.

MAKE THE PURCHASE COUNT

Five checks before checkout

  1. Match the model. Look for 1400B or PX201 in the listing, not just the family name.
  2. Match the job. Confirm the fabric, cleaning method and restrictions before buying.
  3. Verify the bundle. Check included tools and formula sizes; ask the seller about an ambiguous listing.
  4. Compare the full offer. Include needed supplies, delivery, seller, condition, return terms and warranty eligibility.
  5. Plan the routine. Make room for setup, careful cleaning, drying and machine care.

Our take: use the cord and formula differences to narrow the choice. Let the exact offer and your fabric decide the rest—not an unsupported “best overall” badge.

Questions worth settling before you buy

Are all Little Green and StainStriker models the same?

No. This comparison covers only the 1400B and PX201. A different model, retailer bundle or revised package can change the tools or other details. Match the model number and carton contents to the offer you are considering.

Does a higher wattage prove better cleaning?

No. Electrical input is not a head-to-head measurement of stain removal. This article does not rank cleaning performance or drying speed.

Can either replace my normal vacuum?

Do not buy either for that purpose. Their manuals instruct you to vacuum loose debris before spot cleaning. Choose around the wet-cleaning task you actually need to solve.

Should I choose only by today’s price?

Check the correct model, condition, tools, replacement supplies and seller terms first. Then compare the live offers. A lower price for a different bundle may not be the better purchase for your job.
