This policy explains how Larmine evaluates products and develops buying recommendations. The exact criteria vary by category, but the standards below guide our work.
We start with the reader
Selection begins with a defined use case: the room, available space, budget, household needs, installation requirements, maintenance expectations, and tradeoffs that matter to the intended reader.
What we evaluate
- Materials, construction, dimensions, capacity, and compatibility.
- Functionality, ease of use, cleaning, assembly, and maintenance.
- Safety information and applicable certifications when relevant.
- Warranty, support, replacement parts, and expected longevity.
- Price in relation to features, quality, and likely useful life.
- Patterns in credible owner feedback, including recurring limitations.
- Availability from reputable retailers serving U.S. customers.
Testing and research language
We clearly distinguish hands-on testing from research-based evaluation. We do not claim to have purchased, installed, or personally tested a product unless that experience is documented and true. When a guide is based on specifications, documentation, expert sources, and owner feedback, we describe it accordingly.
Ranking and “best” labels
A “best” designation is meaningful only within a stated purpose, such as best for small spaces, best value, or best for easy maintenance. It is not a claim that one product is universally superior. Guides should explain the criteria and tradeoffs behind each label.
Prices, ratings, and availability
We do not invent prices, discounts, ratings, reviews, or stock information. Because these details change, readers should confirm current information on the retailer’s website. When dynamic information is displayed in the future, it must be sourced and dated appropriately.
Affiliate compensation

Updates
Buying guides should be reviewed periodically and when major products, specifications, safety information, or availability change. A product may be replaced or a recommendation revised when evidence supports the change.
